Hello my name is Emmalin, I am a Support Coordinator for Platinum Psychology and Consulting.
In 2017 I completed my Bachelor's degree in Human Sciences majoring in Community Services.
While studying at University, I worked as an Independent Support Worker on the Central Coast, under my own ABN.
I provided support to a number of individuals across areas such as accessing social and recreational activities, providing in home supports, assisting with daily living and life skills and transportation to and from day programs and activities.
In 2018 after graduating from University, I left my support worker role and went into a full time role as a Caseworker for the NSW Department of Family and Community Services. In this role, I worked closely with families in achieving set goals by accessing support services available locally to them. This role allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of what supports and services are available for individuals and families on the Central Coast, and working with these families to create better outcomes across all areas of their lives.
In 2019 I joined the team at Platinum Psychology and Consulting where I now work as a Support Coordinator for NDIS participants.
While working in my role as a COS for Platinum, I also went back into my role as a Disability Support Worker, where I have worked on and off for four years.
My studies and past employment opportunities, as well as working a split role as both a COS and Support Worker simultaneously, has allowed me to gain a better understanding of the specific needs and types of supports that individuals with a disability need, and where these supports can be accessed locally.
